2 x Mechanical Engineers are required to join a market leading Innovative Industrial an Off-Road Systems Company that is nearly 100 years old and is a leading UK supplier with significant growth expectations, so an exceptional time to join the organisation. The Mechanical Engineers will be Reporting to the Chief Mechanical Engineer.

The Mechanical Engineerswill be part of a small but growing team, working on designs for Industrial Systems and related off-road products for the rail and mining sector. The products and size of platforms range dependent on project and end client and are powered by Diesel, electric, battery or hybrid technologies.  This opportunity is a chance to join a team that is close working with all employees, including the Directors, Chief Engineers and support personnel

Mechanical Engineers - Essential Criteria

• Degree or HND in a related subject (BEng, BSc) - Mechanical or Product Design Engineering
• Experienced within an engineering and product design environment.
• Ability to work in a team of engineers.
• Ability to liaise with the electrical engineers and other departments
• Commutable to the South Derby area.

Mechanical Engineers - Key Responsibilities and Experience Required

• To mechanically design products in 3D, including 2D detail production drawings.
• Update existing designs, in conjunction with the electrical design engineers.
• Supporting the technical author as required.
• Able to work with an ERP system (Microsoft NAV or similar).
• Able to work with associated Bills of Materials.
• Skilled with 3D CAD (ideally Autodesk Inventor or Similar).
• Skilled with hand calculations and FEA Design experience.
• Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems and large fabrications.
• Experienced with a low volume product experience.
• Able to Support production with technical enquiries.
• Preferred Industrial, Rail or Off-Road product design experience

Hours and Holidays

• 37 hours/week
• Some Flexitime working available if needed
• 7.30 - 16.00 Mon to Thurs
• 7.30 - 12.30 Fri
• 25 days + 8 statutory holidays

Other and Benefits - After successful 3-month probationary period.
