Job role: Hydraulics Fitter.Location: Near Burton. Working Hours: 44 hours per week.Shift Schedule: Monday to Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:00 PM; Friday, 6:00 AM to 1:00 PMContract: 6 months plus. About the Role:We are seeking a skilled Hydraulics Fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overhaul and testing of a wide range of hydraulic products, including pumps, motors, valves, power units, and high-pressure hydraulic tooling such as press equipment. This role requires precision, technical expertise, and a strong commitment to safety and quality.Key Responsibilities:* Perform fault-finding down to the component level, using test results to identify failures.* Precisely assemble and test hydraulic pumps, motors, servo valves, manifolds, and hydraulic actuators for both OE and aftermarket products.* Inspect incoming components for defects and imperfections.* Test assembled products to meet the strict criteria required within the rail sector.* Conduct quality inspections at all stages of the assembly process.* Create and complete technical documentation and procedures.* Work within clean room environments to maintain high standards.* Assist in the stores area as required.* Maintain and preserve all company tools and equipment in your care.* Mentor trainees and apprentices when applicable.* Support and participate in 5S activities.* Report any near misses and ensure waste is disposed of correctly.* Report any issues or problems with jobs to the line manager.* Adhere to all Health, Safety & Environmental instructions and requirements.* Take on any other reasonable responsibilities or tasks within your skills and abilities.* Comply with all company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental, and Personnel policies and procedures.Person Specification:Qualifications and Experience:* Recognized engineering qualification required.* Good understanding of mathematics.* Strong knowledge of hydraulics and experience in accurately assembling and testing a wide range of hydraulic products.* Experience with cleanliness requirements in hydraulics and safety precautions in pressure testing.* Solid understanding of general engineering practices, including overhauling units, measuring, component inspection, testing, and fault finding.* Previous experience in a similar role.* Good hand skills for working in an engineering workshop.Key Skills and Attributes:* Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working to tight deadlines.* Ability to work in a physically demanding and ever-changing environment.* Strong manual handling skills and flexibility in adapting to different tasks.
