The role

As a Graduate Cover Teacher, you’ll take on the responsibility of leading lessons for groups of around 30 students in the absence of the regular class teacher. You’ll cover a variety of subjects, but don’t worry – you’re not expected to be an expert in every area. Lesson plans are always prepared in advance, and your role will focus on guiding students, managing classroom behaviour, taking accurate attendance, and ensuring a smooth handover to the absent teacher.

Requirements
To be considered for the position of Cover Supervisor, you will:

• Have a genuine passion for helping secondary school students thrive.
• Be confident and comfortable leading lessons independently.
• Demonstrate a strong willingness to learn and grow in your career.
• Be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check (if not already registered with the Update Service).
