Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a dedicated Class Teacher in Year 1 at a Primary School in Burton on Trent. We are looking for an experienced and committed Primary Teacher who has knowledge, skills and understanding of Early Years and KS1 with the transition from EYFS to KS1. The successful candidate will offer a full understanding of the curriculum and will demonstrate a sound knowledge.

  • Location: Burton on Trent
  • Start Date: Full-time, starting January 2025
  • Class: Year 1
  • Pay: £162.30 to £223.63 per day, depending on experience

KS1 Primary Teacher Role:

As the successful candidate, you will play a key role in supporting the progress and development and the delivery and teaching of the KS1 curriculum. Your duties will include:

  • Identifying clear teaching objectives and specifying how they will be taught and assessed
  • Setting tasks which challenge pupils and ensure high levels of interest
  • Setting appropriate and demanding expectations
  • Setting clear targets, building on prior attainment
  • Take account of pupils' needs by providing structured learning opportunities which develop the areas of learning identified in national and local policies and particularly the foundations for literacy and numeracy;
  • Encourage pupils to communicate about and record their learning, develop self control and independence, concentrate and persevere, and listen attentively;

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant Teaching qualifications - PGCE/QTS
  • Strong references supporting prior experience
  • A full CV covering your employment history
  • Right to work in the UK
