Quality Manager | Burton On Trent 

Are you ready to hold the autonomy of being the client facing representative of a rapidly growing parts supplier with a turnover of almost £500million?

Ford & Stanley – The Rail Recruitment Experts are working with a leading supplier to the Automotive/Rail industry, on their search for a confident Quality Engineer, to be the expert in quality across multiple locations. 

The Opportunity

Opportunity for an ambitious Quality Engineer to hold the autonomy of being the conduit between a leading fastener supplier, and their multimillion contracts with leading OEMS, within the automotive and rail sectors.

The business is undergoing a period of growth, having recently secured another large automotive contract worth £7 million. They therefore require a strong customer facing presence to their client’s bases in Goole and Crewe. You will hold the authority of managing the Quality Management System, and supporting non-conformance/quality procedures, to make yourself indispensable to a £multimillion company.

Locations:

Remote, with regular travel to customer sites in Goole and Crewe, and Head office in Burton.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Be meticulous about meeting standards and customer expectations.Your role is concerned with monitoring and advising on the performance of the quality management system, producing data, and reporting on performance, measuring against set standards.
  • liaise with other managers and staff throughout the organisation to ensure that the quality management system is functioning properly. You'll advise on changes and how to implement them and provide training, tools, and techniques to enable others to achieve quality standards.
  • Working closely with Warehouse, Sales & Purchasing Teams, the role is wide ranging. Responding to both Supplier & Customer Non-Confirming Reports by undertaking internal investigations, documenting corrective & preventive actions, and importantly reviewing those measure frequently, to ensure they are properly implemented.
  • Enhance & Develop Quality Management Systems (QMS), advising on and writing procedures for a range of business activity.
  • Undertaking Internal Audits to ensure business functions adhere to those standards defined throughout our QMS's.
  • Responding to Non-Conformance and implementing preventive measures
  • Manage customer & supplier quality related enquiries.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Support for various project activity including stock taking & cycle counting.
  • Supplier Auditing, Evaluation & Purchasing Support
  • Attend & Contribute to our Quarterly Quality & Inventory Meetings
  • Key customer support – Rail, Safety Critical etc.
  • Prepare accurate reports for management

Requirements:

  • Quality Engineering experience – ideally in Automotive or Rail but other manufacturing sectors considered
  • Formal ISO audit training
  • Strong customer facing quality engineering experience
  • Driver and happy to travel across sites regularly
