Are you a passionate and experienced mental health professional looking to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a Specialist Mental Health CAMHS Practitioner to join our dynamic and supportive team in South Staffordshire.

About the Role

As a Specialist CAMHS Practitioner, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality mental health support to children, young people, and their families. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), managing a complex caseload and providing evidence-based interventions to support those with significant mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct specialist assessments and provide interventions for children and young people with mental health difficulties.
  • Develop and implement care plans, ensuring effective risk management strategies are in place.
  • Offer clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to junior staff and other professionals.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and other services to ensure integrated care and support.
  • Participate in service development, evaluation, and improvement initiatives.
  • Provide expert consultation and training to professionals working with children and young people.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or a related discipline.
  • Registration with a recognised professional body (e.g., HCPC, NMC, or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience working with children and young people in a mental health setting.
  • Strong assessment, formulation, and intervention skills, with the ability to manage complex cases.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to care.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding policies, and clinical guidelines (e.g., NICE).
  • The ability to work flexibly, independently, and as part of a wider team.
