Classroom Link are working in partnership with an SEN school based in Burton on Trent DE15 area who are looking to appoint SEN teaching assistants to start on 7th April 2025.

The school provides education for students aged is a SEN school for children aged 5-19 with autism, speech and language disorders, moderate to severe learning difficulties and associated behavioural difficulties.

The school has a supportive SLT and excellent resources and facilities and this role comes with opportunities for progression.

The main duties within this role will be:

  • Working on a 1:1 basis with pupils who present with additional needs
  • Engaging children in activities to help increase academic outcomes
  • Liaising with the class teacher around progress made by pupils
  • Leading academic interventions with pupils working below age expected levels
  • Acting as a role model for children across the school
  • Following the school's behaviour and reward systems to help engage pupils

The school are looking for people who:

  • Have previously worked in school's or in a childcare setting
  • Can engage pupils within lessons
  • Are able to build relationships with pupils
  • Have a good understanding of the primary school curriculum
  • Possess good communication skills.
