NXTGEN is excited to be working closely with a leading and reputable firm in Bury St Edmunds as they continue to expand their Audit function, looking for an Audit Assistant to join the team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Audit Assistant looking to take the next step in their career, joining a firm that truly invests in its people, offering a unique opportunity and clear progression path.

This growing practice has recently brought in a highly experienced Audit Director who's already made a huge impact, expanding the client base and strengthening the team with top-tier talent. With continued growth and ambitious plans in place, they are now looking for the next Audit Assistant to be part of their journey. As an Audit Assistant, you'll be joining a firm that takes a modern approach to audit, offering flexible working, a strong social culture, and a collaborative environment where people genuinely enjoy coming into the office. The firm works with a broad range of SMEs both locally and across East Anglia, meaning you'll gain exposure to different industries and develop a well-rounded skill set.

Since this is a newly built and growing function, as the new Audit Assistant you will have the fantastic opportunity to work alongside some of the best in the market while being part of something from the ground up. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of audits for a diverse client portfolio, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Work closely with senior team members to deliver high-quality audit services.
  • Prepare financial statements and support clients with technical queries.
  • Develop client relationships, providing advice and insights beyond compliance.
  • Continue progressing with your professional qualifications, with full study support provided.

  • Working towards either ACA/ACCA with a background in audit.
  • Previous experience working within an accountancy practice.
