I am excited to be working exclusively with this growing business to recruit a Financial Controller. This strategic yet hands-on role places you at the helm of the company’s financial management, reporting directly to the Managing Director. You'll oversee the finance team, manage the company’s financial operations, and play a crucial role in shaping the department’s processes, driving efficiency, and supporting the business's ambitious growth plans.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management:

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations, including VAT, payroll, and cash flow management.
  • Lead the production of monthly management accounts and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Manage year-end statutory processes and liaise with external auditors.

Reporting and Planning:

  • Prepare and analyse monthly and annual reports to monitor trends, financial health, and forecasts.
  • Spearhead budgeting and forecasting processes across multiple time frames.
  • Collaborate with various departments to refine financial strategies and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Leadership and Development:

  • Manage and mentor a skilled finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
  • Propose and implement systems and processes to streamline operations and improve financial controls.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with government regulations, tax laws, and financial reporting standards.
  • Collaborate with auditing services and external advisors to maintain high standards of compliance.

Strategic Contributions:

  • Translate business strategy into actionable financial plans with measurable KPIs.
  • Support decision-making by providing financial insights and creative alternatives to reduce costs and enhance performance.

Key Skills

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) and experience in a financial leadership role.
  • Experience in Sage Intacct or similiar.
  • Experience implementing new systems and processes to a scaling business.
  • Flexible approach and can adapt to changing landscape.
  • Strong commercial acumen, hands-on approach, and the ability to balance strategic vision with operational execution.

You will be an engaging communicator with the ability to build effective relationships within the business and with external partners.

The role is office based with travel between offices based in Norfolk and Suffolk and some hybrid working.

The role will offer a base salary of up to £60k + car + 25 days holiday + 5% pension + healthcare.
