Join an award-winning zero-to-landfill technology lifecycle innovator in the Sustainability sector. As a Management Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our Finance Department, ensuring the production of accurate and timely management accounts and maintaining financial integrity across the board.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Month End Support:
    • Complete the month-end closing process with support from the Finance Assistant.
    • Prepare and process journal entries, maintain the fixed assets register, and manage monthly depreciation journals.
    • Update monthly balance sheet reconciliations and provide meaningful narrative to key financial information.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Assist in the preparation of the annual budget and any reforecasts throughout the year.
  • Cashflow Management:
    • Update the Cashflow forecast and manage Debtor and Creditor ledgers.
    • Prepare Payment runs including Salaries, PAYE, Expenses, and other ad hoc payments.
    • Ensure robust cost control procedures are in place.
  • Year-end Accounts & Audit:
    • Assist in the year-end accounts process and prepare a workable timetable with external accountants and auditors.
    • Lead in ensuring that external auditors are provided all necessary information for a smooth and accurate process.
  • Reporting:
    • Prepare and submit Quarterly VAT returns and handle other regulatory returns.
  • Collaborative Working:
    • Build strong relationships across teams to provide effective support to key stakeholders.
    • Deliver excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring high-quality financial information for decision-makers.
  • Right Hand to the Head of Finance:
    • Act as a trusted person the Head of Finance relies on during their absence.
    • Manage the Finance Department and potentially line manage the Finance Assistant.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • AAT Level 4 qualified or ACCA/CIMA Part qualified (experienced candidates will also be considered).
  • Proficient in Excel and knowledge of Sage 200 is an advantage.
  • An interest and understanding of data analysis.
  • Team player with excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to challenge current processes to ensure best practice.
