Projects Account Manager

The Projects Account Manager will be responsible for generating new business, managing key accounts, developing and maintaining a long-term relationship with the accounts and maximising sales opportunities within them across the UK in accordance with the agreed business plan.
Duties (to include but are not limited to):
New Business Development
- To develop new business to increase the sales and specification of the company’s product range.
- Research potential leads via ABI Barbour, online research and other data sources.
- Liaise directly with key stake holders including architects, construction companies, consultants, main contractors and sub-contractors.
- Research viability of potential projects and who to tender to.
- Play an integral role in new business pitches and hold responsibility for the effective security of new business.
- Prepare and deliver sales and company presentations.
- Cold call potential clients as required.
- Negotiate specific contractual terms, warranties and payment terms.
- Focus on growing and developing existing clients, together with generating new business.
Pre - Sales
- Review plans and specifications to enable the design team to generate a design/proposal.
- Review the design, check compliance with their requirements and pass to the sales administrator to generate quotations.
- Chase outstanding quotes and close the sale.
- Handle technical queries as required.
Post Sales / Project Management
- Act as the key interface between the customer and all relevant departments within the company.
- Hand relevant information to the installation and logistics departments for each project.
- Manage existing projects; pass plans to the sales co-ordinator to load onto the system.
- Review the project details, contract, warranties, and payment terms once the project is secured.
- Actively build and develop relationships by maintaining regular contact with the client to ensure each project is progressing correctly.
- Deal with project variations and feed information to the installation and design departments as required.
- Complete case study forms and pass to the sales and marketing administrator to progress.
Business Plans / Marketing / Exhibitions
- Assist with the production of the annual business plan for the team for ultimate agreement by the Senior Account Management Team.
- Regularly review targets / forecasts.
- Ensure targets set are achieved.
- Attend exhibitions to keep abreast of developments within the industry.
- Attend exhibitions as exhibitor and/or visitor as required.
- Regularly review competitor activity and feedback to management.
- Liaise with the sales and marketing teams in respect of marketing campaigns, literature and social media presence.
General
- To have an input into the direction and strategy of the business, both current and new markets.
- Liaise with work colleagues as required.
- Participate in internal / external meetings as required to achieve the business objectives.
- Identify and meet personal job-related training and development as required.
- Undertake telephone liaison with relevant contacts.
- Provide assistance in terms of general and specific business support as required.
Person Specification:
- 3 years plus sales/ account management experience essential
- Experience working in the construction sector essential
- Driving Licence essential
- Good communication and IT skills required
- Knowledge/experience of mechanical heating services (plumbing/electrical) is beneficial
- Training on products and systems provided in-house
- The ability to work on own, as well as part of a team
- An organised and enthusiastic work ethic
