Salary: Up to 34,000 per annum

Berry Recruitment are looking for a tech-savvy and detail-oriented Digital Bookkeeper to support a well established and busy business within Bury St Edmunds.

This role includes supporting clients with day-to-day bookkeeping, whilst also helping them transition to a new digital platform that simplifies receipt and expense tracking. You'll play a key part in introducing and supporting clients with a mobile app that allows them to upload receipts by simply snapping a photo, making record-keeping faster and easier.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Introduce and onboard clients to a new digital receipt upload app.

  • Provide training and ongoing support for clients using the app.

  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping duties including:

    • Processing and categorising receipts and invoices

    • Bank reconciliations

    • VAT returns and expense tracking

    • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records

  • Liaise with clients regularly to ensure records are complete and accurate.

  • Assist with month-end and year-end reporting tasks.

  • Work closely with accountants and other finance professionals to ensure smooth handovers and compliance.



Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.

  • Strong understanding of digital bookkeeping tools and cloud-based accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).

  • Confident introducing technology and apps to clients, with a clear and supportive communication style.

  • Good working knowledge of general bookkeeping processes and VAT.

  • Excellent attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.

  • AAT qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential.
