Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Account Manager will develop both existing and new business for our client. Whilst the business front is an online web shop, the team have the goal of developing a good, loyal, long-term trade customer base that return.
The role is wide ranging dealing with enquires, queries and customer service from any existing or new customer for the business. The customer range is also wide and can be, for example, end-users, trades people, builders, installers.
Duties (to include but are not limited to):
- Dealing with incoming calls and convert into sales.
- Prepare quotations and follow through project all the way to order stage.
- Focusing on developing existing customers as well as generating new leads.
- Identify new opportunities and contact to develop into new customers.
- Actively build and maintain relationships with customers.
- Review plans and specifications, consult customers to ensure they are purchasing the correct products for their needs.
- Handle technical queries when required.
- Attend meetings online or in person if required.
- Review competitors and feedback to management.
- Maintain a high level of customer service.
- Deal with any issues such as returns or delivery problems.
- Assisting with and generating enquiries through social media platforms.
Person Specification:
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role within construction/trades industry
- To effectively communicate in oral and written communications
- Confident telephone manner
- Confident use of a PC to communicate internally and externally
- Team worker
- Self - Motivated
- Energetic Personality
- Experience within the underfloor heating trade is preferred but not essential.
- There are systems and software in place to assist with this role, including:
CRM system to maintain accurate customer records for all communication and organising workflow.
Microsoft Office package, including Outlook for the use of email, Excel for recording data which along with the telephone these are critical tools for this role, so for the above being IT literate is important.
