We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a major highway project in Bury St Edmunds on a freelance basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a high-profile infrastructure project, contributing to key stages of its development and execution.
Role Details:
- Position: Senior Engineer
- Location: Tuddenham
- Project: Major Highway Infrastructure
- Contract Type: Freelance (CIS)
- Duration: 6 months initially (potential for extension)
- Rate: 350 - 380 per day (CIS)
- Start Date: Immediate
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee engineering aspects of the highway project, ensuring technical excellence.
- Manage site activities, ensuring work is completed to the highest safety and quality standards.
- Provide technical support and problem-solving expertise to the project team.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, designs, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders to maintain project progress.
- Prepare reports, documentation, and maintain accurate records of site activities.
- Implement and uphold health, safety, and environmental procedures.
Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years in civil engineering, with a strong background in major highway projects.
- Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of highways construction, earthworks, drainage, and structures.
- Certifications: CSCS Card (essential), SMSTS (preferred).
- Software Proficiency: Experience with AutoCAD, MS Project, and other relevant engineering software.
- Attributes: Strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
