As they continue to grow and expand their operations, they are seeking a talented and experienced Manual Turner / Miller to join their dedicated team.

Role Overview:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual lathes and milling machines, producing high-quality components that meet exacting standards. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, a strong grasp of machining techniques, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines
  • Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical blueprints
  • Perform various machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, and threading
  • Ensure components meet specified tolerances and quality standards
  • Conduct regular machine maintenance and safety inspections
  • Work collaboratively with the engineering team to enhance production processes
  • Comply with health and safety regulations at all times

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Significant experience as a manual turner and miller within an engineering or manufacturing setting
  • Proficient in machining techniques and tool selection
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings
  • High level of precision and attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills and work ethic
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of workshop health and safety practices
  • Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification in machining (preferred but not essential)
