SALARY: £40,000 - £47,000 per annum + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: 50% of your time will be working at client sites, spanning UK and International locations. The other 50% of your time will be working from the office in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, East Anglia (IP28)

You must hold a full driving license andhave your own vehicle as there is no public transport to the site. A company van is provided for working hours only.

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Field Service Engineer / Laboratory Equipment Installation and Maintenance Technician who has previous experience installing, servicing and maintaining lab equipment.

Working as the Field Service Engineer / Laboratory Equipment Installation and Maintenance Technician you will travel to client sites to install, commission, maintain and repair specialist flow chemistry equipment. Additional training on this range of specific flow chemistry equipment will be provided. Although you will need previous experience installing and servicing general lab equipment.

As the Field Service Engineer / Laboratory Equipment Installation and Maintenance Technician you will also be responsible for training new and existing users in the operation of the flow chemistry system, reactors and software, in addition to providing remote support when youre back working in the office.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Field Service Engineer / Laboratory Equipment Installation and Maintenance Technician include:

  • Training new and existing users in the operation of the flow chemistry system, reactors and software
  • IQOQ certification of the newly installed flow chemistry systems worldwide
  • Perform maintenance and upgrade services on-site in laboratories and at the factory
  • Discussing applications and gathering information from customers experiences
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by advising customers on preventative maintenance and repair
  • Technical support to customers by phone and email
  • Creation of technical bulletins and guides

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in a laboratory service or installation role
  • NVQ Level 3 or Higher Diploma / Degree in engineering or chemical engineering (or equivalent)
  • Good logical troubleshooting techniques
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • You enjoy travelling and visiting customers
  • Able to work with minimal supervision after training
  • Ability and desire to travel internationally
  • You must hold a full driving license andhave your own vehicle as there is no public transport to the site. A company van is provided for working hours only

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE

  • Experience within a scientific industry and working in a laboratory environment
  • Electro-Mechanical experience
  • Experience in working overseas
