As a Functional Skills Teacher you will create an inspirational learning environment with high expectations of learner attendance, achievement, success and progression.
You'll oversee and co-ordinate the development and delivery of Functional Skills Maths and English qualifications, from Entry Level to Level 2, that are informed by relevant, and up to date, subject and curriculum knowledge, as required by the curriculum/timetable.

We are looking for someone with the following skills, experience and qualifications:
- A recognised teaching qualification
- Experience delivering Functional Skills both Maths and English entry level to GCSE
- A clear understanding of the Study Programme and application, and a sound knowledge of planning and assessment techniques.
- A robust knowledge of behavioural techniques and theories and their application.
- Knowledge of the statutory requirements of Equality and Diversity health and safety, safeguarding and child protection.
- An extensive knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
- Relevant classroom teaching experience.
- Ability to build positive and professional relationships with students, colleagues, parents/carers and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- Experience working within a team with a collaborative approach to ensure that the College’s overall effectiveness is judged by OFSTED as consistently good or outstanding.
- Experience working with hard to reach or disengaged young learners aged 14-19
