Join a wonderful team as a Part Time Visitor Services Assistant, where you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Café/Gift shop and entrance at our show gardens. This customer-facing position involves a variety of tasks including visitor admission, serving refreshments, handling cash, and maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer service.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Welcome visitors and members efficiently via the admissions system.
  • Promote our membership scheme and uphold the values of Perennial.
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards at all times.
  • Ensure food areas are kept hygienic and up to the required standards.
  • Accurately take and serve visitor orders for food and drinks.
  • Operate POS tills and handle cash, including cashing up at the end of the day.
  • Work flexibly and collaboratively as part of a team, including supervising and working alongside volunteers.
  • Ensure all tasks are completed with high accuracy and a focus on getting things right the first time.
  • Adhere to all Company policies, including Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a public-facing role.
  • Excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
  • Good organisational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Experience in food handling and knowledge of health and safety are desirable.
  • Relevant training (e.g., food service, health & safety, food safety, customer service) is advantageous.
  • An active interest in gardens or gardening is desirable but not essential.
