NXTGEN is looking for an experience Manager to join a highly respected Accountancy practice based in Bury St Edmunds. This Manager role offers a unique opportunity for someone with substantial experience, who is seeking a flexible position 3 days per week. It's perfect for someone looking to step back from a full-time commitment or a senior role within a larger firm, yet still eager to make a meaningful impact with a small, client-focused team.

As the Manager, you'll play a crucial role in managing a portfolio of long-standing clients, taking pride in delivering a high-quality, personal service. You'll also have the opportunity to work closely with the Director to ensure the practice continues to meet the evolving needs of its clients. This practice is known for its supportive and inclusive culture, where employees and clients are truly at the heart of what they do.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing a client portfolio, acting as their main point of contact
  • Producing complex management accounts and providing insights to clients for strategic decision-making
  • Reviewing and finalising VAT returns, ensuring compliance and accuracy
  • Mentoring junior team members and fostering a collaborative, high-performance environment
  • Continuously evaluating and refining clients' finance systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness

What we're looking for:

  • ACA, ACCA qualification or QBE
  • Extensive experience in an accountancy practice (10 years +)
  • Proven track record of managing client portfolios
  • Confidence in using Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trusted client relationships
