Senior Ecologist

Bennett and Game currently have the pleasure of representing a well-established, award winning, multi-disciplinary practice local to Thetford, who are seeking an ambitious Principal Ecologist to join their ever-growing team. Out client is built up of multiple specialists, who provide a variety of services including Arboriculture, Ecology, Landscape Architecture and Landscape Planning.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Principal Ecologist to work directly with an extensive and diverse portfolio of clients whilst managing and mentoring a team. This team specialise in the retention and incorporation of greener and more natural Green Infrastructure into residential development but also carry out consultancy services for all sectors including commercial, leisure, local government, and Infrastructure/ Utility projects

The successful Principal Ecologist will be involved in all aspects of projects both small and large scale. Our client has a diverse portfolio of projects across predominantly strategic and detailed residential schemes. You will be working closely alongside the Director, on a wide variety of projects giving you a great foundation of knowledge to build your experience and professional career on.

• The opportunity to lead and mentoring a team of ecologists working on a variety of projects
• Ecological project management
• Preparation of ecological impact studies, feasibility studies, and scheme reports for projects and Environment Statements
• Resolution of technical issues as they occur for a range of areas across projects and for the monitoring of progress
• Integrating the regional delivery and supporting the UK ecology delivery
• Take an active role in the technical development of staff, coaching and mentoring on technical issues

• Associate member of CIEEM - working towards Full Member
• BSc or equivalent qualification in Ecology, Biological Sciences or similar
• Minimum of 1 Protected Species licences
• Full drivers' licence
• People management experience
• Maintain and develop existing client relationships
• Live in a commutable distance of Thetford
