We are seeking a Hire & Sales Coordinator to join our client's team on a temporary basis with the potential to become a permanent role. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers, managing all administrative tasks related to equipment hire, and driving additional sales revenue.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Respond to customer enquiries and orders over the phone, providing accurate information on equipment availability.
  • Coordinate with the Workshop and Drivers to ensure equipment readiness and timely delivery to customers.
  • Work closely with the Foreman & General Manager to maintain consistent availability of top 50 items.
  • Utilise Smart Office for various tasks including purchasing, equipment searches, depot transfers, stock control, and customer enquiries, ensuring accuracy in all processes.
  • Actively promote and sell consumables to customers to achieve monthly sales targets.
  • Understand and promote the use of PDA systems, ensuring Drivers maximise the system’s benefits.
  • Handle manual paperwork when required and maintain a daily diary of equipment movements.
  • Collaborate with other depots to source equipment and report any customer rate or agreement issues for prompt resolution.
  • Support the General Manager and credit control team in resolving invoice queries.
  • Adapt to system changes and criteria, proactively safeguarding company interests and customer relationships.
  • Maintain the depot showroom and work area to company standards—clean, tidy, well-stocked, and dust-free.
  • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by the General Manager, which may include driving duties.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle customer enquiries confidently.
  • Competency in administrative tasks and attention to detail to minimise errors.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changes and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly within a hire or sales environment.
