Embedded Software Engineer
Location: Diss
Salary: £45K - £55K Plus excellent benefits
About the Role:
A forward-thinking engineering company is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer to join their innovative Embedded Systems team. The position involves designing, testing, and delivering high-quality embedded software across various products while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and test both high- and low-level software for embedded systems.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure software is rigorously tested to meet specifications within project timelines.
- Write code adhering to company coding standards for consistency and quality across projects.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation throughout the software design process, including updates and modifications.
- Identify and address issues during development while delivering projects within deadlines.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, offering suggestions and implementing enhancements to reduce inefficiencies.
Additional Duties:
- Participate in relevant training and development programs to meet personal, departmental, and company goals.
- Perform duties necessary to deliver high-quality products on time to customers.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture by identifying non-value-adding activities and offering solutions.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Essential:
- Proficient in coding with embedded C, including real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Skilled in developing high-level functions and low-level drivers.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Effective time management to meet deadlines.
- Creative mindset for transforming ideas into innovative products.
- Commitment to continuous improvement through updates and training.
Preferred:
- Degree in software/electronics engineering or related field.
- Evidence of working as an embedded engineer, including cross-disciplinary collaboration.
- Experience with architecture, sprint planning, and testing processes.
- Familiarity with electronics hardware design.
- Experience in motorsport/automotive industries or with Microchip ATSAM and PIC32 processors.
