About the Role

Join our extraordinary team at Howden, Corporate & Commercial as an ambitious Claims Handler. You will manage your own caseload of claims and work closely with Claims Executives to deliver outstanding service and tailored advice to clients, empowering businesses to achieve unwavering growth.

Overview

  • Take a "hands-on" approach to handling a portfolio of claims from start to finish.
  • Handle phone calls, emails and tasks.
  • Register FNOL and ensure all new claims are monitored and handled within our service level agreements, including custom arrangements with insurers.
  • Maintain full compliance with our standards, service procedures, accepted market practices, and CII Code of Ethics.
  • Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations.
  • Accurately record and file all communications with clients.
  • Support clients to get the best outcomes on their claims, advocating for our clients to receive prompt service and great outcomes on their claims.
  • Work with Claims Executives to identify trends and risk management needs.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Working knowledge of all main classes of General Insurance, our main claim types are Motor, Property and Liability. There is the the ability to cross train into these and other areas such as travel, cyber, transit and financial lines.
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial claim's experience.
  • Responsibility for personal development and keeping knowledge up to date through e-learning, in-house courses, and studying for professional qualifications to gain required CPD points.

  • Good level of technical insurance skills, assessed by regular in-house testing.
  • High accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to process work quickly and efficiently.
  • Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent client service skills.
  • Good negotiation and broking skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to identify and respond appropriately to an individual client's level of understanding.

Qualifications

  • GCSE Math's and English (or equivalent).
  • Cert CII (desirable for this role).
