Our client is seeking support in their Central File Opening Team responsible for assisting each department with opening their files, including anti-money laundering and Client Due Diligence checking.

The Role

As a member of the Central File Opening team, you will:

  • Open matter files within our case management system (Peppermint)
  • Upload client ID to our case management including scanning and photocopying
  • Follow up on any client calls/emails and assist them with their ID documentation, explaining the process where necessary
  • Advise our legal teams of any issues arising from the file opening process
  • Assist with risk assessments and associated risk relevant work, liaising with our Risk and Compliance team when necessary
  • Carry out general administrative tasks in relation to file opening

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required

Ideally, you will have worked within a legal practice previously or a recent law graduate. We would like you to have experience of inputting data and working to tight timescales.

You could have legal secretarial, administration, or any other type of office-based experience and now be looking for a new challenge.

Ideally, you will:

  • Demonstrate an ability to work efficiently in a volume processing environment
  • Have good analytical skills and a keen eye for detail and problem-solving
  • Be able to deal with competing deadlines/workload
  • Have the ability to see a task through to completion in a timely manner
  • Be capable of using your own initiative
  • Have excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills
  • Be a good communicator (both written and verbal) and have the confidence to discuss ID requirements with our clients, as well as with members of the firm
  • Be adaptable and flexible
  • Have the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Have strong Microsoft Office skills – such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Email

This can be a fully remote role travelling one day a week to Bury St Edmunds.
