Your new role
This is a 2-week holiday support with a 1-day handover temporary legal secretary/audio typist job. You will be working in a collaborative environment supporting the family law team. Duties include but not limited to:

  • Accurately prepare various legal documents from digital dictation, including letters, forms, briefs, and invoices.
  • Handle routine matters, correspondence, and queries independently when appropriate.
  • Liaise with clients, counsel, courts, and other third parties.
  • Assist enquiries by phone and in person, arrange consultations/appointments/call-backs, and follow up on open enquiries.
  • Provide clients with a high level of service, resolving any queries or concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Enter key dates in the central diary, monitor diary notes and forthcoming events and deadlines.
  • Manage files including opening and closing files, conducting conflict checks, maintaining files in good order.
  • Assist with other duties such as photocopying, faxing, reception cover, etc.
  • Record all relevant work on the firm's computerised time recording system.


What you'll need to succeed
The role requires a confident and professional legal secretary who is adept at audio typing and document preparation AND is available to start work on 19th July and cover for 2 weeks.

You will require:

* Proven experience as a Legal Secretary, particularly with audio typing and document preparation.
* Familiarity with legal terminology.
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to liaise with various parties.
* Competence in handling confidential information.
* Proficiency in using legal software and computerised time recording systems.
