  • The Senior Operative will work closely with the Warehouse Team Leader to ensure safety, performance, and operational efficiency within the warehouse.
  • Candidates should be PC literate, possess excellent English communication skills, and be proactive in supporting health and safety standards.

Contract Personnel Thetford are pleased to be working with their client based in Red Lodge who are looking for Warehouse Senior Operatives who have MHE  expereicen and hold a VNA / Counterbalance FLT cert.

This role is offered on a temp to perm basis.

We have one postion for their Day shift and one postion for the Back shift.

The Senior Operative role is a hands on development role working alongside the warehouse Team Leader/s to support them achieving exceptional performance &service levels, whilst also helping to support both people and operational issues.

In conjunction with, and reporting directly to the Warehouse Team Leader, this role involves helping to manage the immediate needs of the warehouse operation in terms of safety, performance, processes, people issues and work flow.

The role will hold a higher level of responsibility amongst the Warehouse Operative teams, in the above areas.

Job duties include

You may be asked to step-up and provide cover for the Team Leader in areas of:

  • Monitoring Safe working practices.
  • People Organisation.
  • To develop self in and support best practice (Health & Safety)
  • Understand current processes.
  • Support change as and when required.
  • Support operational decisions / “Work a rounds” when required.
  • Support all Health & Safety rules & regulations.
  • Learn how to carry out accident and incident investigations.
  • Be proactive in improving H&S Standards across the site.
  • Understand and support safe operation of all MHE.
  • To provide information/feedback on supplier deliveries/compliance.
  • Directly liaise with & manage supplier drivers upon arrival, unloading, and leaving site.
  • Support the Warehouse Management Team in achieving “on time in full”
  • delivery to customers.
  • Support the Warehouse Management Team to ensure efficient and accurate service levels.
  • Build rapport and relations with Customer Services and Supply Chain Teams.
  • Be proactive in supporting customer needs/requirements.
  • Be flexible when required meet the needs of the business (potential shift changes/overtime).

Knowledge/Skills & Experience:

  • PC literate
  • Warehouse Management Systems (SAP desirable)
  • Excellent English Communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Previous Warehouse experience
  • Experience of leading a team
  • MHE experience (VNA desirable).

Backshift – Mon to Thur – 16:00 to 02:00 with 3 x 20 min breaks.  Rate of Pay £14.53 PH with overtime paid at time and one half.
