Job Purpose
As a Pest Control Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment at Asda sites by providing comprehensive pest control services. This position involves proactive identification and prevention of pest activity while ensuring all work meets the highest standards of Health & Safety and hygiene. You’ll visit stores, supermarkets, depots, and living sites at scheduled intervals, conducting detailed inspections and effectively communicating observations. Key Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
- Proactively prevent and control pest infestations at Asda stores and distribution centres through regular, planned preventative maintenance visits.
- Respond to emergency call-outs promptly, providing professional and efficient solutions to immediate pest issues.
- Communicate daily with Asda colleagues and your line manager, delivering concise, accurate reports on your findings and actions.
- Build solid working relationships with Asda and CITY colleagues, working collaboratively to resolve pest issues and provide an excellent service.
- Take ownership of pest-related issues, including cleaning and proofing, to manage and resolve any ongoing challenges.
- Provide on-site training for Asda/CITY colleagues on pest control best practices as needed.
- Ensure the safe and responsible use of pesticides per Control of Substances Hazardous to Health regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of time, mileage, and any other required logs.
- Keep your vehicle and equipment in top working condition to support optimal service delivery.
In addition to technical tasks, you’ll play a role in supporting the overall performance of the company by achieving KPIs and providing flexibility to meet service delivery needs.

What You Bring
To excel in this role, you should have:
- Qualifications: Royal Society of Health Certificate in Pest Control or British Pest Control Association Diploma (Part 1 and 2 preferred).
- Experience: Demonstrated experience in pest control and bird proofing; fumigation experience is a plus.
- Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar PC applications.
- Flexibility: Willingness to occasionally travel or stay overnight if required.
- License: A current, full driver’s license.
