About the Company

A national contractor who specialise in civil engineering and utilities, are looking for an established Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team based from local offices in Bury St Emunds. This business are a market leader in the building and maintenance of Overhead Powerlines, Substations, Cabling, Windfarms and Battery Storage Facilities. As a business this Group have over 1b of work secured with a variety of clients in the Power sector.

About the Role

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the measurement and reconciliation of subcontractor accounts, material and plant costs. Collation, coding and supply of plant, material and labour site returns to Quantity Surveyors on various projects. Assist with subcontract order and payments process. Support with the creation and maintenance of Project Procurement Schedules, under direction, to aid Commercial and Operational Team in Delivery.

You will be responsible for the provision of accurate and timely data to support the creation of interim and final account applications and month end reporting. Provide assistance with initiating the Pre-Qualification process through communication with third party suppliers and internal Supply Chain team. Assist with the management, preparation and distribution of Subcontract tender enquires.

You will liaise with other members of the wider internal Project Teams and clients. Undertake costing activities, under direction, to support the Senior Quantity Surveyorin Change Control submission to the client. Provide assistance to the Commercial Team with day-to-day commercial administration.

About You

You are either working towards your degree in Quantity Surveying, or have graduated in the last few years. Some industry experience working within a commercial team in any sector is essential for this role.
