NXTGEN is working closely with a highly regarded Accountancy firm in Bury St Edmunds to recruit an Accounts Senior. As an Accounts Senior, you will work closely with a diverse client portfolio, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. You'll be involved in accounts preparation, tax compliance, and providing valuable insights to clients. The firm prides itself on delivering a high-quality service while fostering a collaborative and friendly working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accounts for a range of businesses, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP.
  • Prepare tax computations and support tax compliance services.
  • Work with cloud-based accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
  • Build strong client relationships, offering advice on financial and business procedures.
  • Assist in mentoring and developing junior team members.
  • Manage and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines efficiently.

What the client is looking for:

  • AAT qualified and/or ACA/ACCA part-qualified, with a strong background in practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience within an accountancy practice.
  • Strong technical knowledge of UK accounting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to client service.
  • Experience mentoring junior staff is desirable.
