Salary:£35ph - £38ph

Contract: Contract, Full-Time (35 hours per week)

About the Role:

Suffolk County Council is seeking experienced and passionate Senior Social Workers to join our Children's Services teams. This exciting role offers a dynamic mix of duties, including:

  • Child Protection: Conducting thorough assessments and investigations, developing and implementing safety plans, and participating in strategy meetings and court proceedings.
  • Child in Need: Working with families to address a range of needs, including emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties.
  • Duty and Assessment Work: Responding to urgent referrals, conducting initial assessments, and making decisions about the level of need and appropriate interventions.
  • Casework Management: Leading and supervising junior social workers, providing professional guidance and support.
  • Liaison: Building and maintaining strong relationships with other professionals, including health visitors, teachers, and police officers.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a relevant Social Work degree and SWE registration.
  • Significant experience in child protection and child in need work within a local authority.
  • Excellent assessment and report writing skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with children, families, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Experience of supervision and line management.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Experience of working with specific client groups (e.g., children with disabilities, families experiencing domestic abuse).
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.
  • Experience of using case management systems.
