Ackerman Pierce work closely with County Councils and Schools to provide one to one tutoring for children waiting for school placements. The children we are looking to support have a range of additional complex needs and so we are seeking experienced SEN /HLTA's/tutors/teachers.

We are currently recruiting for Core Subject Tutors to provide face to face provision to Students based in Bury St Edmunds.

  • Location - Bury St Edmunds
  • Position - 1:1 Tutor
  • Start date - ASAP
  • End date (if applicable) - ongoing
  • Contract type - Temporary
  • Hours - 3 hours per day
  • Rate of pay - £25 - £35 per hour

We are looking for candidates who are:-

  • Available during school hours up to 30 hours per week.
  • Experienced in delivering differentiated National Curriculum core subjects.
  • Experienced teaching young people with a wide range of complex and challenging needs including SEMH/ASC/MLD/SpLD.
  • Exceptional behaviour management strategies.
  • Prepared to work face to face within the community.

Role and Responsibilites:

  • Provide Core Subject (Math, English, Science) tuition to young people with Special Education Needs and Disabilities.
  • Plan holistic and engaging sessions which meet each students' individual needs.
  • Complete weekly and termly reports and provide feedback on the young person's progress.

Requirements

  • Background teaching in English, Maths, Science or SEN classes ranging from KS1-KS5.
  • QTS status (or equivalent) or unqualified with two years' experience teaching NC core subjects.
  • Experience working with ASD/EBD/SEMH and associated complex needs.
  • 2 years previous experience working within a UK school.
