Quality Technician - Bury - £27k - £32k per annum plus excellent benefits

Our client is a well-established and successful food production company based in the Bury area; due to their continued success they are expanding their team and recruiting for an experienced Quality Technician to work in their Quality team, dealing with all areas relating to food safety, quality, legality and authenticity.

Main Duties:

  • Create, review and update work instructions.
  • Verify CCP training within the factory
  • Oversee document control of all quality documents.
  • Manage corrective actions, issue supplier non-conformances, root cause analysis, management of team brief process.
  • Support with pest control, microbiology, SAQ’s, customer complaints.
  • Develop quality ops and line leaders within the factory to ensure their quality knowledge or processes are up to date and followed.
  • Ensure labelling and coding is correct and product quality meets the required standard.
  • Ensure CCP’s are achieved and react to quality issues within the factory.
  • Monitor & check the goods in policy to meet customer and BRC requirements and maintain records.
  • Complete internal audits to schedule.
  • Assist with all BRC requirements pre / post audit.
  • Assist with the management of the HACCP system & team, ensuring the site is food safe and secure.
  • Carry out the mock product recall process ensuring it takes place annually, traceability is correct and close out non-conformances from the process.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent knowledge of food safety legislation (including HACCP & BRC)
  • Background in food manufacturing
  • Ability to communicate at all levels and train people.
  • Ability to produce reports, analyse data and maintain records.
  • Auditing experience
