An experienced CNC service engineer is required, for a highly regarded household name in the CNC machine tool industry.

Globally recognized in the world of CNC machining, with a reputation for exceptional quality and reliability. They have a really strong network of over 25 service engineers across the UK, along with support in other areas such as applications, project engineers, and helpdesk technical support.

Benefits include an excellent base salary of up to £43K depending on experience, plus an OTE of £50-£55K with door-to-door payments Time & 1/2 after 37hrs per week, company vehicle with choice of a van or hybrid car, mobile phone & laptop, 33 days holiday, yearly bonuses, private pension, death in service and yearly salary reviews.

Responsibilities for the service engineer include -

  • Breakdown repairs and maintenance of CNC Machines including multi axis Mills and Lathes
  • Routine service and inspections, as well as fault finding
  • Carrying out mechanical and minor electrical repairs to ballscrews, bearings, gearboxes, pumps, motors, drives, panels and software faults
  • Machine levelling and alignments
  • Installation and commissioning of machinery on site
  • Ordering of parts from the office, replacing and retrofitting
  • Providing end-user training and customer support both remotely and on-site

Lots of product training provided, including trips overseas to the manufacturing facilities where the machines are built, along with job shadowing with senior engineers in the team

We would love to hear from suitable candidates with the following skills and experience- Previous experience as a CNC service engineer, maintenance engineer, or service technician - Confidence with either electrical or mechanical breakdowns of machinery - Experience working with either FANUC or Siemens controls - Good knowledge of fault-finding, diagnostics checking and equipment inspections - Willingness to travel nationally, and be prepared to stay overnight if required- Clean driving license
