We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a supportive school in Bury. The successful candidate will work alongside experienced educators to support SEND pupils, ensuring they can access the curriculum and participate fully in school life. This is a rewarding role where you can truly impact the educational and personal development of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEND pupils on a one-to-one or small group basis.

  • Assist with classroom activities and provide tailored support to meet individual learning needs.

  • Help students develop social and communication skills.

  • Implement and monitor individual education plans (IEPs) alongside the teaching team.

  • Support pupils with personal care and mobility when required.

  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the students.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working with SEND pupils or in a similar role (preferred but not essential).

  • A patient, empathetic, and caring approach.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work effectively within a team.

  • A commitment to promoting an inclusive learning environment.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).

  • Additional training or experience in working with specific SEND needs, such as autism, dyslexia, or physical disabilities.
