Bury Council are seeking an experienced Executive Assistant to provide high-level support to Directors within their Children and Young People Service. This role is ideal for someone who has previously supported senior leaders or possesses extensive experience in diary management and administrative duties at a senior level within a dynamic office environment. Experience within a Children’s Service setting is advantageous but not essential.
Day-to-day of the role:- Manage email and diary for Directors, ensuring efficient scheduling and time management.
- Support Directors with smaller projects or tasks, contributing to the smooth operation of the service.
- Handle complaints, proactively gathering information to assist Directors in responding to issues effectively.
- Familiarise yourself with the Executive Directors’ commitments, priorities, and working practices to manage and deflect less critical issues.
- Serve as a liaison between the Chief Executive, Executive Directors, and Cabinet Members, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Coordinate project work diligently to support the delivery of high-quality service.
- Communicate instructions from the Executive Director/Directors to other staff accurately, sensitively, and professionally, enabling them to perform their tasks effectively.
- Proven experience as a Personal Assistant at an executive level.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in managing electronic diaries and emails.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
