The School and Role

Do you have experience as a Sports Coach or Teaching Assistant supporting within sports lessons? Have you supported young people from difficult backgrounds?

A specialist school in Bury is seeking a School Sports Assistant with a passion for physical education and a desire to use sports activities and lessons as a tool to aid motivation, confidence, and emotional resilience. The ideal person will develop life-long positive attitudes to sport, physical activity and healthy living. The School Sports Assistant will engage with pupils aged between 11-16 years with Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs. There may also be classroom support on your timetable, so it is important to be flexible and adaptable.

Requirements
The desired School Sports Assistant will:

  • Have a positive mindset to inspire children through sport.
  • Have relevant experience delivering sports to young people.
  • You will need to be resilient, empathetic, patient and not take things too personally.
  • Have relevant experience of working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.
