Your new companyThis multi-academy trust has a head office based in Bury, with schools based all across North Manchester and, due to continued growth, they have approached Hays seeking a Technical Project Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. The trust has undergone a significant period of growth already, with 20 schools as part of the MAT and with plans for this to increase to over 60 by 2030, and it is therefore important the right individuals are appointed to ensure the success of this growth. The IT team has grown over the past 2 years and Hays has placed a number of people with the organisation, continuously receiving positive feedback from them regarding the collaborative culture present, as well as further development opportunities available. The technical project manager will become an integral part of the IT team, reporting to the Trust Head of IT. Your new roleAs Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of integration projects, from evaluation to implementation, ensuring each system aligns with the wider IT Strategy. You will manage multiple, concurrent projects across various operational areas, working closely with a wide range of stakeholders on technical projects relating to IT, systems and technology. On a daily basis, you will lead the end-to-end project management for projects such as platform integration and new systems for HR, compliance and estates and this will involve completing research and evaluation, working closely with IT teams around the implementation and integration of these systems. A key element of this role will be liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, advising on current and upcoming projects and how these will benefit the wider trust, and you will also be responsible for providing regular updates to stakeholders and reporting on progress. What you'll need to succeedIn order to be successful in securing this position, you must have technical project management experience, having successfully led and overseen IT projects in a previous role, ideally with education sector experience. You will be local to the Manchester area as this role will require you to be on site daily, and you will be visiting schools in the trust, all based in the Manchester area. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills are essential, as well as the ability to understand technical briefs and information.
