Having been established for over 40 years, the group has recently acquired a number of other brokerages, bringing together a collection of reputable brands into the network, and their continued growth means they are now looking for a new Trainee Insurance Broker to join their Bury office.

The Role

As a Trainee Insurance Broker, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills of the insurance industry. You responsibilities will include:

  • Learning about the various products within the insurance industry across a range of sectors and specialisms, both commercial insurance and personal insurance.
  • Assisting Account Handlers, Brokers and Directors in managing a portfolio of clients.
  • Processing of policy applications, renewals and mid-term adjustments.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the clients business and requirements, and their risks.
  • Support in preparing quotes, proposals and client presentations
  • Liaising and negotiating with underwriters to identify the most suitable insurance products for your clients.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of a commercial insurance products.
  • Handling day-to-day queries and enquiries from both clients and insurers.
  • Providing outstanding customer service, developing lasting relationships.

About You

  • Experience in working within a professional setting, ideally in the insurance or professional services industry, or another business-to-business environment.
  • A degree in business or finance, or experience in a related field, would be preferred.
  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills both in person and over the phone.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong PC skills and proficient in MS Office Suite
  • A strong desire to learn and develop a career in the insurance industry.
