Bury Council are seeking a Procurement & Contracts Manager to join their Corporate Procurement and Contract Management Team. The team provide advice, guidance, and services across property related projects and premise management.

This role involves managing multi-million pound procurement contracts and providing comprehensive procurement and contracts services to the Facilities Management Team within the Operations Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the probity, efficiency, and effectiveness of all procurement activities across various locations within the Borough.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and manage multi-million pound procurement contracts, ensuring contract compliance and cost control.
  • Provide specialist procurement advice and support to officers regarding high-value contracts.
  • Ensure effective management of categories of spend.
  • Assist in developing and lead the implementation of an effective project programme management framework for the FM team and wider Council if necessary.
  • Devise and implement appropriate performance standards and measures for procurement activities.
  • Liaise with the FM administrative team regarding the day-to-day operation of procurement and contracts.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in managing large-scale procurement contracts and providing procurement advice.
  • Strong understanding of contract compliance strategies and cost control.
  • Ability to develop and implement project programme management frameworks.
  • Extensive knowledge of procurement legislation and best practice.
