Job Opportunity: School Science Technician in Bury
Are you a science graduate with a passion for education and laboratory work? We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised Science Technician to join our secondary school in Bury. This is an excellent opportunity to support the science department and help inspire the next generation of scientists.
Position: School Science Technician
Location: Bury
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm
Pay: Up to £100 per day, depending on experience
Start Date: Immediate
Role Overview:
- Assist the science department in preparing and organising practical experiments for students.
- Set up laboratory equipment and ensure materials are ready for lessons.
- Support teachers during practical science lessons.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and proper storage of chemicals and equipment.
- Ensure all work is conducted in line with COSHH regulations.
- Manage inventory of lab supplies and order materials as required.
- Help maintain accurate records of experiments, materials, and safety protocols.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Must have a university qualification in a science-related field (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.).
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations is essential.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is beneficial but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive and safety-conscious approach to laboratory work.
