Are you a science graduate with a passion for education and laboratory work? We are looking for an enthusiastic and well-organised Science Technician to join our secondary school in Bury. This is an excellent opportunity to support the science department and help inspire the next generation of scientists.

Position: School Science Technician

Location: Bury

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Pay: Up to £100 per day, depending on experience

Start Date: Immediate

Role Overview:

  • Assist the science department in preparing and organising practical experiments for students.
  • Set up laboratory equipment and ensure materials are ready for lessons.
  • Support teachers during practical science lessons.
  • Maintain laboratory cleanliness, safety, and proper storage of chemicals and equipment.
  • Ensure all work is conducted in line with COSHH regulations.
  • Manage inventory of lab supplies and order materials as required.
  • Help maintain accurate records of experiments, materials, and safety protocols.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Must have a university qualification in a science-related field (biology, chemistry, physics, etc.).
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations is essential.
  • Previous experience working in a school setting is beneficial but not essential.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and safety-conscious approach to laboratory work.
