Role: -Senior Materials Testing Technician Location: -Manchester - onsite Salary: - Competitive salary (DOE)Russell- Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Technician to join our clients Global Testing organisation. Our client is looking for someone who has previous industrial experience working within a materials, industrial manufacturing or chemical/Engineering laboratory with previous exposure of performing testing, maintaining equipment and working to testing standards.Responsibilities• Performing corrosion, metals and materials testing.• Recording test results.• Maintaining and setting up laboratory equipment- ensuring that it is in safe working order.• Work to testing standards such as ISO 17025.• Communicate requirements to Project Manager.• Suggest activities and improvements.• Assist in implementation of any identified actions.• Client contact may be required.• Housekeeping of the laboratory.The Person• Previous industrial based experience within a testing facility- materials, Oil & gas, heavy manufacturing or chemical. • Experience in materials science or metallurgy would be beneficial.• Experience of ISO 17025 would be advantageous.• Understanding of laboratory safety procedures and experience of handling chemicals.• Good organisational and time management skills.• Ability to work within a team but also individually.• A can do' attitude.• Excellent problem solver.
