Geography Teacher - Bury - September start A dedicated and passionate Geography Teacher is required to work at a popular Good secondary school in Bury, to join them on a full-time basis for the Autumn term. You will be asked to teach key stage 3 & 4 classes of various academic abilities. This position is five days a week, full time, and is open to ECTs as well as experienced Bury teachers. It will be a temporary role for the Autumn term, but then there will be a possibility of becoming permanent in January. You will be required to become fully involved within the department & school, like a permanent member of staff, and attend departmental meetings when required, and be available for parents' evenings as well as planning and delivering captivating, high standard lessons that will stretch the pupils in their learning. You will also be required to mark the work and provide feedback along the way, in tandem with AfL. This is a Good school in terms of behaviour and attitude, personal development and leadership and management. The pupils enjoy the school and respect each other and the staff creating a caring environment for everyone involved. The leaders of the school have high expectation of the students which they rise to, striving for success at every opportunity. Many pupils enjoy various clubs and activities and take on additional responsibilities. These include music, drama, sports, and a range of groups to support the promotion of tolerance and respect. CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS: Location Bury Position Geography Teacher (KS3 & 4) Type of work Teaching Start date September Likely Duration 1 term Contract type Temp to perm Full time Minimum rate of pay from £153.85 per day Hours 8:30am 4pm EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS: Degree educated with a good classification, preferably in Geography Secondary QTS (PGCE, SCITT, B.Ed, QTS, etc) in Geography Previous experience working with young people (which we can reference) Experience of teaching in a Secondary School (which we can reference) Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (essential, we can provide the training) Up to date Prevent awareness training issued in the last 3 years (essential, again, we can provide the training) Up to date behaviour management & FGM training (essential, however, training can be provided). TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: Hold Right to Work in the UK Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application at a cost of GBP45.80.
