Children's Independent Reviewing Officer, BuryPay rate £40 per hour  Vitalis Social Care are recruiting for an experienced and qualified Children’s IRO to join an established team in Bury.Job Purpose and Responsibilities: -
  • To convene and provide an independent chairing service for multi-agency and departmental meetings in matters relating to Child Protection, Looked after Children, Private Fostering, Supervision Orders & missing from home.
  • To ensure ‘best practice’, rigour and out-standing care and safety planning for Bury children, working constructively with senior managers and offering a critical perspective and appropriate challenge to the Local Authority.
  • To ensure the quality of practice within the department. To monitor performance of the local authority’s function as a ‘Corporate Parent’ and identify and challenge areas of poor practise and recognise and promote best practice.
  • To provide a specialist consultancy and advice service to staff of the department and other agencies.
  • To drive and facilitate the department in developing strong, safe, effective and transparent relationships with other agencies and wider community networks.
  • To promote and monitor adherence to the Child Protection and looked after children regulations, guidance and departmental procedures to enable a consistent and high quality service to children and their families who are receiving services from the Department.
