Responsibilities:

  • Assess and support families, ensuring children are safeguarded during difficult times.
  • Work with a range of agencies to identify risks and reduce them, ensuring the best outcomes for children.
  • Manage a varied caseload of Child in Need and Child Protection cases, ensuring timely and effective interventions.
  • As needed, you'll undertake court work with the support of your team manager and practice development manager.
  • You'll be expected to implement child-focused, systemic practice to achieve positive, long-term outcomes for children and families.


What you'll bring to the role:

  • 1-3 years of experience working within a safeguarding social work setting.
  • Ability to manage complex and diverse caseloads, with a strong focus on relationship-based practice.
  • A good understanding of the risks faced by children in care and the safeguarding procedures required to address these issues.
  • You should be able to work well independently and as part of a team, always putting the needs of the children and families first.
