We are working with Bury Council to find a Surveyor on an interim basis. Length of role: Initial 6 monthsLocation: BuryJob Type: Full-time (hybrid, 2-3 days per week in office)Hourly Rate: £35-£40 Umbrella. Please outline your rate expectations if they differ.We are seeking a proactive and experienced Surveyor to join our team on a six-month contract. This role involves significant interaction with industrial estates, schools, and residential properties, focusing on landlord and tenant relationships, property management, and right-to-buy evaluations. The successful candidate will be supervised by an existing senior surveyor and will be part of a team of 8-10 people.Day-to-day of the role:-          Manage the let estate including disposals of land and property assets, and acquisition of property interests for corporate schemes.-          Undertake project management of regeneration and property development.-          Conduct valuation of land and property for both capital and revenue purposes.-          Visit various sites including industrial estates, housing, schools, and council buildings.-          Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and manage the Council’s industrial and commercial land and property portfolio.-          Set annual income and expenditure budgets for managed properties/estates, monitor performance, and undertake regular reconciliations.-          Negotiate and settle rent reviews and lease renewals, assess rental values, and manage the letting or disposal of vacant properties.-          Provide property advice, undertake valuations, and manage the sale of Council land and property assets.-          Represent the Council at court, arbitrations, and other professional capacities as required.Required Skills & Qualifications:-          RICS accredited degree or equivalent.-          Member of the RICS ‘Registered Valuers Scheme’ (desirable).-          Significant experience in disposals, acquisition, and management of land and property.-          Competence in valuation of land and property assets for various purposes.-          Experience in creating and managing property-related budgets.-          Strong communication skills, able to convey complex information effectively.
