Welder/Fabricator - Bury

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Welder/Fabricator to join our team in Bury. This role involves performing high-quality welding operations in a safe and efficient manner. The ideal candidate will have fabrication knowledge and the ability to read technical drawings. Daily tasks include MIG welding of mild steel in various thicknesses, manufacturing containers, wash-down bays, wheel wash systems, bowsers, and more. Additionally, testing and commissioning of both new and existing fabrications is a crucial aspect of this role. The successful candidate will work closely with other production departments to meet operational growth demands.


Hours:

  • 39.5 hours per week
  • Monday Thursday: 06:30am-3:45pm
  • Friday: 06:30am-12:30pm


Salary: £15.15 per hour/ £598 per week/ £31,118 per annum

  • Interpret production drawings to fabricate and weld high-quality and safe products.
  • Maintain a safe working environment and continuously seek improvements.
  • Operate and maintain welding and fabricating machinery in line with best practices.
  • Adapt to changes in tasks, structures, and processes to enhance product quality.
  • Self-motivate and take initiative.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members to maintain high service levels.
  • Uphold professionalism and commitment.
  • Follow 5S principles to improve organization, cleanliness, and standardization of the workplace.


Essential Skills:

  • Experience in fabrication
  • Experience in MIG welding
  • Ability to interpret production drawings


Desirable Skills:

  • NVQ Level 2 Welding and Fabrication
  • NVQ Level 3 Welding and Fabrication
  • Knowledge of manual handling principles
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
