Senior Maintenance Engineer

Salary: £47,000pa + shift allowance + project bonuses

Location: Watford

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer to take the lead in supporting job resourcing, planning / prioritising, repairs, preventative and continual development of all production equipment within the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, and control scope of the Engineering Department.

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing maintenance, calibration, repairs, and setup of production equipment while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Responsibilities
  • Communicate work instructions and prioritise activities to align with production plans and business needs
  • Oversee maintenance, calibration, repairs, and setup of production equipment, ensuring compliance with guidelines and practices
  • Engage with planning activities to support priorities, resources, and maintenance requirements
  • Document shift handovers and important information for effective communication
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and procedures
  • Ensure safe working practices in accordance with legislation and company requirements
  • Make technical decisions and support the development of the team
Qualifications
  • HNC or equivalent formal qualification in the main discipline
  • Full indentured apprenticeship with experience and additional study
  • A strong Multi-skilled background - both Mechanical and Electrical skills are required
  • A 17th / 18th Edition would be preferred, but this is not essential
  • Experience of taking the lead within a team
  • Ability to perform Engineering and Maintenance activities to a high standard on Pharmaceutical and associated equipment
  • GMP training and experience is preferred
  • Experience within Pharma / Food / Brewery / Dairy / Petrochemical industries
  • Flexibility to work a double-days shift pattern
