About the RoleAs an ASD Specialist Teacher, you will:
- Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the needs of pupils with ASD and SEMH.
- Support students with communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation.
- Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team, including SENCOs, therapists, and support staff, to implement personalised learning strategies.
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and confidence.
- Monitor and report on student progress, ensuring regular communication with parents and carers.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Proven experience teaching students with ASD and/or SEMH in a school or specialist setting.
- Strong knowledge of ASD-specific strategies, such as PECS, TEACCH, or social stories.
- Exceptional communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual needs.
- A patient, empathetic, and positive approach to supporting pupils with additional needs.
- A welcoming and inclusive environment that values every member of staff.
