We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Welsh Teacher to join our dedicated team in Blaenau Gwent. The ideal candidate will be passionate about the Welsh language and culture, with a commitment to inspiring students to embrace and excel in their Welsh language studies. This role involves delivering engaging and dynamic Welsh lessons that align with the Curriculum for Wales, fostering language acquisition and cultural appreciation across all key stages.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality Welsh language lessons across all key stages.
- Develop and implement strategies to promote Welsh language skills, including speaking, reading, and writing.
- Assess, track, and report on students' progress, tailoring support to meet individual needs.
- Contribute to the wider school community by promoting Welsh culture and language initiatives.
- Maintain an inclusive and positive classroom environment that supports the success of all students.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a qualified teacher with a strong command of the Welsh language and a deep understanding of the Curriculum for Wales. Ideal candidates will demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and the ability to engage students of all abilities in language learning.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialisation in Welsh.
- Proven experience teaching Welsh, ideally within a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of the Curriculum for Wales and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent communication skills in both Welsh and English.
- A commitment to promoting Welsh language and culture within the school community.
