We have an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant (TA) with SEN Experience to join our dedicated team in Southampton, Hampshire. This is your chance to play a crucial role in supporting and inspiring students every step of the way!

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant (TA) with SEN Experience, you will be instrumental in supporting students with their unique learning needs, helping them overcome barriers to education and achieve their full potential. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment. This is an excellent opportunity to create a meaningful difference within a supportive and inclusive educational environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualised education plans for students to tailor educational activities and resources to meet their specific needs.
  • Provide one-on-one support to students to help them understand and complete their work, offering additional explanations and assistance as needed.
  • Monitor and assess students’ progress, provide feedback to teachers, and adjust support strategies as necessary.
  • Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure a cohesive approach to students’ development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment to foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere where students feel valued and included.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods to engage and motivate students, catering to their diverse learning styles and needs.
  • Maintain accurate records of students’ progress and report to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant with SEN Experience or in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the unique challenges and needs of students with specific educational needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, parents, and colleagues, building positive and supportive relationships.
  • Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
  • Deep commitment to helping students by exhibiting patience and empathy in your interactions.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (desirable but not essential).

To work with us as a Teaching Assistant (TA) with SEN Experience, you will need:

  • The right to work in the UK.
  • An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • An enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be happy to apply for one.
